A Message From the Founder
StrongHer was born from a simple conversation with my daughter, Lucia, whom our family lovingly calls Lulu.
One day, she asked a question that stopped me in my tracks: “What happens to girls who don’t have the things they need during their period?”
As a physician, I have spent my career helping people through some of the most important moments of their lives. Yet her question reminded me that many young women around the world, and even in our own communities, face challenges that are often invisible. Something as basic as access to menstrual hygiene products can determine whether a girl attends school, participates in sports, feels confident among her peers, or simply moves through her day with dignity.
That conversation inspired us to create StrongHer, a program under the CrisisRX umbrella dedicated to empowering girls and young women through access, education, support, and opportunity.
We believe that no young woman should miss school because she lacks basic necessities. No young woman should feel ashamed of a natural biological process. No young woman should be denied the opportunity to reach her full potential because of circumstances beyond her control.
StrongHer exists to provide practical resources, educational opportunities, mentorship, and support systems that help young women overcome barriers and build brighter futures. While addressing period poverty is one of our core missions, our vision extends beyond products. We strive to foster confidence, resilience, leadership, health, and self-worth.
Our goal is simple: when a young woman is given the tools, knowledge, and support she needs, she becomes stronger. And when women become stronger, families become stronger, communities become stronger, and the world becomes stronger.
Lucia’s question became a mission. Today, that mission belongs to all of us.
